Wiedmann Bibel meets Peace-Light
The world’s longest painted Bible becomes part of the peace-light event.
Since 1986 a child fetches the light from the grotto in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. Since 1989, scouts have carried it around the world in two blast-proof miners lamps from Tel Aviv Israel to Vienna Austria. From here it is distributed at a Service of Dedication to delegations from across Europe. They take it to their own countries with a message of peace. From Bethlehem, the miners’ lamps go to New York City.
On the third Sunday of Advent, the peace-light will reach Braunschweig. To celebrate the event, the local parishes will showcase the Wiedmann Bible in an exhibit. Starting December 15th it can be seen in the Petrikirche in Beddingen (Salzgitter).
Date: December 15, 2019, at 6 p.m.
Location: St. Petri, An der Petrikirche, 38239 Salzgitter
