The re-opening of the Wright Brothers National Memorial’s new Visitor Center will be very special. In a 2-hour performance the Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetter and his team will transform the monument into an art sculpture by projecting up to 20 images onto the landmark. Some of them will be from the Wiedmann Bible.
Within three years the world-renowned light artist Gerry Hofstetter will travel all 50 states of the U.S. and put 50 monuments, that have played an important role in the country’s history, into spotlight. One of them is North Carolina which entered the Union on 21st November 1789 as No. 12.
The Wright Brothers flew the world’s first controlled powered airplane at Kill Devil Hill on 17th December 1903.
